On site Service Management

There are similarities between Service Management and the Pull-Manufacturing concept in AFPOD.
AFPOD has an on-site service management function where service technicians can be scheduled for standard or diagnostics tasks.

In addition to its scheduling function, Standard tasks such as commissioning and standard repairs called "Intervention" can be documented in AFPOD the same way that processes are documented for the factory.  This includes creation of Sequence Of Events and Intervention Method Sheets (IMSs) explained in the line design function.  By using IMSs on site, technicians can perform standard tasks consistently time after time.

In short, job scheduling, allocation of technicians and use of standard tasks documentation in the form of IMSs is powerful tools available with AFPOD for service management.
